GDPR

As you will probably know, new regulations came into force last year regarding personal data. The Balfron 10k committee have had to assess what personal data we store, how long we store it for and who do we share it with, in order to comply with the GDPR.

As part of this review, the application form for the Mulberry Bush Montessori Balfron 10k 2019 was assessed and the postal address removed as it was considered superfluous. Unfortunately, the impact of this was not realised until we checked how many people were eligible for the local G63 prizes. How would we know without a postcode?

I have had to restore the address field and email those who have already entered to ask for their postcode – oops!

Our GDPR commitments are detailed on our terms here, but basically, we retain runner data for 1 year after the race in order to fulfill any requirements of our Scottish Athletics licence. We do not share runner data with anyone except our trusted chip timing partner, StuWeb.
