2020 race open for entries!

We are delighted to announce that entries for 2020 Balfron 10k being held on Sunday 3 May are now open. Early entry is recommended to guarantee your place. We have listened to all your comments and feedback from 2019 and used it to inform our planning for 2020 event.

An exciting change is a new race route. For those loyal runners who have been coming from the start of the Balfron 10k, you will be familiar with the route already. For 2020 we will be reverting to the “old route”. The start will remain the same, however the route will not include going down through the village via Cotton St, Buchanan St and up Dunmore St. Instead it will follow Roman Rd out to join the country road, following an out and back run, finishing at Balfron High School.

The 2020 race route

A team competition is being introduced. There will be prizes for Scottish Athletics clubs and for a non-club category. Teams must have a minimum of 3 members. If you are thinking about getting some friends or work colleagues together, agree your team name now as you will be asked for it when entering the race. There is no extra cost for entering a team. There is a section on the race entry form for you to select if you are entering as part of a team and what team that will be for.

The support to the changes we made last year to follow a green ethos for the race was amazing. We want to continue to make further improvements to our operations to deliver an event that will have minimal impact to the environment.

As always we want to give you a safe race and a high quality event. The costs of delivering this have risen and therefore the entry fee has been raised to meet these additional costs. The event is organised by community volunteers and any funds raised through the generosity of sponsorship are donated to local causes including Balfron High School and Balfron Primary School.
