The eagerly awaited Mulberry Bush Montessori Balfron 10K 2011 takes place on Sunday 17th April 2011 at 11am from Balfron Campus – following a scenic route out and back.

Now in its fifth year, it has recently been voted the number one 10k in Scotland by readers of a national running magazine. The event attracts over 600 entrants from all over Scotland and has raised over £28,000 for Balfron Primary and Balfron High School.

At the launch of the 10K, Neil McQuarrie Principal Teacher of PE at Balfron High School said, “We are delighted that the Balfron 10K run has become such a huge success and it’s an important fundraiser for us.  It is very much a community event, reinforcing the school’s focus on health and exercise.  This year we have been able to buy Lacrosse equipment, gymnastic equipment, Balfron High School team football and basketball strips. The continued support from Balfron and the business community is tremendous and much appreciated.”

Mairi Clark, Managing Director of the Mulberry Bush Montessori said, “I am so thrilled to be the main sponsor of this prestigious event. This endorses my personal and professional commitment to health and well being for all. We have a couple of staff teams, including myself, and many parents running the 10K. It is always a great race to run and the atmosphere is electric.”

Colin Mendham Race Director said, “The 2011 race will be a bigger and even better event than last year encouraging local runners, young and old to take part and enjoy an active healthy lifestyle. So make Sunday 17th April, 11am at Balfron Campus a date in your diary. It’s a great day out for all the family.”

The main sponsor of the event is Mulberry Bush Montessori, with support from other businesses including Taggarts Motor Group, Careth Ltd, Endrick Property, CKD Galbraith, The Running Company, The Beech Tree Inn, Esporta, Webreturn Internet, and many other local businesses.
